Cornelius Holtorf: Incavation Berlin-Schliemannstraße

During the rest of the afternoon of the first day, Norbert, Sabine and I measured and dug eight rectangular holes in the small yard (hardly a garden) behind the house.

Interestingly, access to the site was through a window from one of the exhibition rooms!

Carefully we placed the topsoil and grass cover separately.

It was hard work!

The holes differed in all three dimensions and in their orientations too.

While digging we found a few funny objects in the ground!

After a break due to heavy rain showers we completed the day's work with drawing a plan of the entire site...

...which required computer work until the early morning!

On the next morning, the actual incavating began...
